38 Weeks

At 38 weeks:

Size: Pumpkin. About 18.9-20.9 inches. 6.2-9.2 pounds.

Major Happenings: He may have about an inch or so of hair. He's slowly shedding the white goo on his skin. He's growing like crazy! I also had an appointment today. Last week the doctor said if he hadn't seemed to grow much that they'd like to do a growth ultrasound. So they measured me, and my stomach wasn't any bigger. So, they squeezed me in to make sure everything was okay in there. He seems to be measuring around 7 pounds! So, he's measuring 37 weeks, 6 days. He couldn't be more on point! The fluid levels in my uterus were a bit on the low-normal side, though. Normal is between 5 and 25 but mine were just about 5.2. SO all that to say I go back in 2 days to check the fluid levels, and then they'll decide if they want to go ahead and induce me at 39 weeks. WHAT?! That's next week. WOW! Also, we think Liam has fifth disease, so they're testing me there to make sure all is well. We've had a crazy couple of days. Mama tired.

What's Been Happening: Last minute details, of course! Finishing packing for the hospital and trying to keep things semi clean around here, so we can pick up and go when it's time! My to-do list keeps growing, so I'm trying to prioritize my tasks. Also, our sweet Liam has been sick for a couple of days and then had a run in with the stove yesterday. He has a nice gash over his eye. This was his first major boo boo! Poor little fella! You'll notice in my pictures below. It hurts this mama's heart!

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well! My only complaint is going to the bathroom often. But hey, I'll take it!

Miss Anything: My baby being well! I hate to see Liam sick :(

Food Cravings: I have really been wanting some iced green tea (sweetened) from Starbucks, and I partake every now and then :) It's a good thing I'm almost done being pregnant because our budget can't keep up with this craving!

Wedding Rings on or off: ON! A bit snug, though!

Looking Forward to: Meeting Harper! We are amazingly close!

Side Note: 38 weeks was my LAST WEEK taking a bump picture with Liam! He came on his own in the weeeeeeee hours of the morning on the day I was 39 weeks. So, who knows...this could be it! Liam decided to join me for these, so we snapped a couple of cute pictures! :)

Friday Recap

Last Friday we kicked off the weekend with a few errands! I wanted to get Liam these shoes from Old Navy for the summer, and he found a cutie ball cap for the summer while we were there. I love my little helper! Plus, he got a giant bouncy ball out of the 25 cent machine, so he was especially happy!

While we were out we also got Liam a soccer goal to start playing with! While at Academy, we purchased a BUBBLE GUN. LIFE CHANGER. The kid can't get enough bubbles and mama gets very tired blowing bubbles over and over again. haha! So, this was super fun! We got some of my new favorite pictures of Liam that afternoon! He's too cute for his own good!

Friday night I got to hang out with GIRLFRIENDS! It was so nice! We had a Mexican Train Fiesta Night at church! Complete with tacos, testimonies, and Mexican Train! We shared lots of laughs, stuffed our bellies, and had so much fun!

Saturday morning I got a BURST OF ENERGY, so I began nesting. And BOY, did I nest. I swapped Liam's clothes over to his room, washed and put away all the newborn stuff--clothes, towels, burp cloths, sheets, etc. I paired together 102 pairs of newborn socks...I was missing ONE out of the whole bunch (this was a very important detail later in the day).

Then I decided to tackle my closet. Oh, the horror! I wish you could've seen it before I began. Oh my! It was a MESS! I had a whole entire pile of clothes that would pour out of my closet every time I opened the door. You couldn't see an ounce of floor in there. I needed some serious intervention! So, I got to work. I worked from around 10 AM until about 12 AM the next day! Crazy. And I got rid of 108 things FROM MY CLOSET ALONE! The chaos:

So at around 7 that evening I noticed the washer stopped mid cycle. It wouldn't start back up and would make a terrible noise if I tried to force it to. I was melting down, thinking we'd have to drop several hundred dollars on a new one soon. After a lot of Googling and YouTube, it finally occurred to me...ONE newborn sock from the load before was missing. Could it be?! So, again with the help of YouTube, we got into the water pump. Lo and behold...A NEWBORN SOCK! We spent 2.5 hours working on our washer, but we fixed it! We were both so relieved (and SO over it!). We will not be opening a washer repair business anytime soon. But we are thankful that's what it was and we were able to fix it no charge!

Sunday was Mother's Day! My sweet boys surprised me with fresh flowers, a mug (specially handpicked by Liam himself...He was insistent on getting it for me), a cute journal, and sweet cards! They even got me these hand stamped rings I've been wanting with the boys' names on them! I don't have them yet, but I'm waiting anxiously for them to arrive in the mail! I'm SO excited!

I worked in the toddler room that AM with Natalee! So I got to spend extra time with my boy...even though he was in a bad mood due to very little napping the two days before.

We snapped some photos of my little love and me!

Then for the sake of naps for everyone, we kept lunch simple by going to Fiesta (our local Mexican restaurant). We were three sleepy people, so staying local was necessary! Liam even got a balloon!

Sunday night after church we went to our friends' Megan and Moose's gender reveal party! All of our friend group keeps having boys, so we were excited to see that it's a GIRL!

Monday I hung out with my little man and drank coffee in my new mug!

We went to Moe's to grab a bite. Then we went to Academy to exchange his soccer goal we got him that we didn't like. He loves his goal and calls it his "big goal!" It's precious!

Tuesday Liam and daddy went on a little road trip, so I got to relax for a couple of days :) P.S.- Please notice that when mommy isn't around, the poor boy's hair is a HOT MESS. #mustkeepthecombover

Tuesday I had a checkup for sweet Harper, and everything looked great! That evening I went to dinner with my friend Stacy. We ate at Panera, which is one of my favorites! We had such great conversation. I admire her a lot! I mentioned to her that I craved Ramen noodles the night before. The next morning I woke up to Ramen noodles on my porch. She's just such a sweet friend!

Yesterday Shay and I went to our last MOPS meeting of the semester. SAD! It's been such a great year being involved with MOPS!

Our MOPS table:

We've had so much fun getting to know these ladies!

Our fun craft:

The theme for the year was "Bloom Where You are Planted." So, this was the perfect craft to wrap up the year! I love how mine turned out!

I'm looking forward to a weekend with my two favorite guys!

April Book Review

April was a very chill reading month for me. I began the month reading For the Right Reasons by Sean Lowe. This book was a great light read. I read it in only a couple of days! I watched Sean on The Bachelorette and then of course again on The Bachelor. He's been one of my favorite contestants ever (and I've watched since about the 2nd season!)! So, I enjoyed a more in depth look at his life journey; his background, his love life, and his time on the shows. Plus, he shares a little insider info about the show that fascinated me! I especially enjoyed reading about his faith journey as well as his wife Catherine's. This is a great read if you love Sean!

The other book I read during April was The Silver Chair. This is book 6 in The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. This had to be one of my FAVORITES of the series! It grabbed my attention and did not take long for me to read at all. This series is one of the best! I hope to read it to Liam and Harper some day.

That was IT for April. Pretty simple, and I liked it that way! May is BABY MONTH, so I cannot promise I'll have tons of books to review then either :) We will see! In the meantime, enjoy reading and pass along suggestions!

37 Weeks

At 37 weeks:

Size: Winter Melon. About 18.9-20.9 inches. 6.2-9.2 pounds.

Major Happenings: Harper's officially considered full term! WOW. He's practicing skills such as inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping, and blinking. He's getting his first poop ready...the black tar kind that I never saw last time because Tyler changed all of those :) Thank you, great husband of mine! He's gaining about 1/2 ounce per day! He'll be here before we know it!

What's Been Happening: I FINALLY got a spurt of energy! The nesting has taken over! Saturday I worked from 10 AM-12AM (the next day) on getting the nursery ready. The closet in there was a WRECK, so I organized and got rid of TONS of stuff! I also washed all of Harper's clothes, towels, sheets, blankets, etc. so they're nice and fresh! Some of that stuff hasn't been touched in months. Hand me downs ROCK, by the way. Hopefully Harper will be little like Liam. Also-- we spent 2.5 hours that night fixing the washer...a newborn sock got sucked up into the water pump, and the washer wouldn't work. I thought we were going to have to drop a ton of money that next day for a new washer, but thankfully Tyler was able to fix it! WOOOOHOOOOO! Thank you Google and YouTube! We also celebrated Mother's Day Sunday, which was so much fun! My guys spoil me! I love them to pieces!

Sleep: So so. We're making it! I find times to nap when Liam does, so that helps!

Miss Anything: Not having to go to the bathroom so much! I feel like my husband who has a bladder the size of a pea.

Food Cravings: Last night I REALLY wanted some Raman Noodles. SO BADLY!

Wedding Rings on or off: Still on! YES.

Looking Forward to: Our diaper shower at church on Sunday. Our church family is SO good to us! We're extremely grateful!

Friday Recap

Last Friday we woke up to our FRIENDS being here! Yay!!! Liam was so excited to finally get to play with Emma! He'd been asking about her for days!

They started the morning by playing with Liam's toys and reading books in his bed.

Then we headed to Shay's house to see the rest of the friends and their kids. They were stopping for the night on their way to their 4th college roommate's wedding weekend in Birmingham! It was so fun to see everyone for a couple of hours! Our kiddos are getting SO big!

Once we got back to our house, Emma and Liam played in the sandbox, played ball, played with Liam's car, and blew bubbles.

The mamas left for wedding weekend, so the dads, kids, and I grilled hamburgers for dinner!

Liam and Emma took a bath and had so much fun!

On Saturday the rest of the crew headed to the wedding, while the Clem's stayed home. We were SO sad we couldn't swing it in Birmingham too. Boo! But we did have a great weekend! Liam and I stopped by Target to grab a wedding shower gift. They were having a fun Mother's Day activity in the snack bar, so Liam got a balloon and goody bag! He was thrilled, even though you can't tell by his face here!

That afternoon he got to play baseball with daddy! That lights up his whole world! I love his "ready" stance!

Sunday morning at church, KidzPraise gave a wonderful musical performance! They're so talented!

Sunday was nice and busy, but my favorite part of the day was Leadership Group at our house! These students are great!

Tuesday I had a checkup for baby Harper! That went really well. Once I got home, Liam found a pack of stickers and was beyond excited to stick them all over us!

He even wanted to include Harper on the fun!

One of my favorite things Liam's doing right now is LOVING "reading" his Jesus Storybook Bible. He INSISTS on looking through it in the morning, before nap, and before bed. Sometimes he allows us to read to him, but he loves to read it to himself. He's so sweet!

Wednesday we had a great night with our youth! I'm so proud of this guy. And of course, Fiesta shenanigans afterward! Liam scored a few fun toys from some of our students!

Thursday we walked with Henry and Shay, and then Tyler and I went to the hospital to visit one of our students who had surgery. We were so grateful to have a couple of hours to spend with that sweet family! Liam got to hang with Shay and Henry while we were there. He got to play in the dirt in the garden where "peppas" grow. He even got to help pull out grass and threw it across the yard yelling "DEAD!" He's a hoot! And of course Henry loves all things TRUCKS! They had a big time!

After the garden fun, Liam passed out on Shay's couch! Sweet buddy.

Once we got back, we had some snuggle time, and I couldn't get over his adorable feet!

And right before his early bedtime, he and daddy got to watch a little bit of baseball. What a great day for that little man!

This weekend is another chill one in good ole' Williamston! We're just waiting on Harper's arrival (25 days...but who's counting?)! Hopefully I can get motivated (and energized) enough to get his closet organized!

Have a GREAT weekend!
